Get your taxes done using TurboTax
The 1095-A form is a known problem that is being worked on by TurboTax. Since you are on Medicaid and do not have a Form 1095-A and did not have marketplace coverage but the section seems to keep defaulting to "yes" This is not a defect, but a case of a form hanging on in the return.
- When revisiting the section the default answer is still set to yes but the 8962 and 1095A are not part of the return.
- If you select Yes you will be prompted to enter the 1095A information and you cannot continue leaving the full form blank as an error will be presented.
- Now you will not be prompted with the yes/no question to receive the 1095A and will see your entry with options to edit/delete the entry.
- Delete the 1095A entry and both the 1095A and 8962 are removed from the return.
- If you revisit the section again default will be yes but the forms are removed
- Now, select No, e-file your return, and if you are rejected, then the IRS requires your 1095A in the return (See article 1095-A).
To remove both the 1095A and 8962 follow these steps:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Look for Form 1095A and Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
- Look for Form 8962 and Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
