Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I have the same question, but I'm trying to figure out how to use TurboTax Premier to enter very simple Schedule C expenses AND I also have stock and crypto transactions to report. My Schedule C sole proprietorship is very simple and I only have a few basic business expenses. I don't need the interview section and can enter them manually. Last year I ended up having to use the Desktop/download version of TT (I got Deluxe since I didn't have stock or crypto yet) because you apparently can't use the Online TT Deluxe to enter biz expenses, only manually in the forms section of the desktop version.
Now, for my 2021 taxes, I have my same Schedule C business (with biz expenses) and also crypto and stocks to report. But you're saying that the desktop version doesn't support cryptocurrency. I really don't want to pay extra for the Home & Business TT because my Sched C is so simple. And, I'm guessing the Home & Business desktop version won't support crypto if Premier doesn't, anyway. So how am I supposed to use TurboTax in my situation?
In a help section post from about 1 year ago, one of the TT tax experts said a workaround would be to start Premier with the online version for free, finish the taxes there including crypto, then download the tax file and open it up in the (paid) download/desktop version of TT Premier, to then manually enter the Schedule C and associated biz expenses. Is it still possible to enter my taxes completely (start to finish) on TT Premier Online for free, as long as I don't file from there? And if that's possible, can I also download the completed TT tax file for free to my PC? I can't find those answers anywhere.
