Get your taxes done using TurboTax
There are several kinds of pins. I think you mean a federal identity protection pin, the 2nd option.
Choose which PIN and see the article related:
- If you mean the filing pin from last year, you can use your AGI instead. How do I find last year’s AGI?
- If you mean the IP PIN for identity protection, you lost or never got your CP01A letter, retrieve your IP PIN online at the IRS's Get an IP PIN website.
- If you just need to get back to it in the program, see How I add my IP pin
- If your return was rejected due to the IP PIN, see TurboTax Online instructions for E-file reject IND-181-01: The Identity Protection PIN
- If you mean the IL PIN:
If you live in IL, you MUST get an IL PIN from the state department.
If you don’t know your Illinois PIN you can:
- look it up on Illinois’ website, IL-PIN Inquiry - Illinois.gov or
- by calling (800) 732-8866 or (217) 782-3336.
