Get your taxes done using TurboTax

As Marilyn noted, many federal forms are not yet released. This means that the software to drive the form has not been completed and tested, nor has the form been updated.

This is just one example of the negative effects of "moving the goalposts" that Congress did in tax year 2020, that is, changing the tax code many times during tax season (instead of before tax season started, as is normal). This vastly multiplies the number of things that have to be done and tested before forms are made available for this tax season.

I expect that you will find that these changes will be addressed before the forms are made generally available. But there are literally thousands of such changes, and the changes have to be tested not only on the relevant form itself but also for their effects on other parts of the tax return. Thus this change (to update the mileage) is highly likely to be on the list of things to do to finish Schedule A but is not expected to be implemented until the final version of the form is made available about 1/20/2021 (all dates subject to change).

As Marilyn said, please follow the availability of Schedule A and all federal forms at this link.
