It was efiled by a tax preparer with foreign tax credit of about $800 on 12th October 21
This tax credit was not applicable this year because the she did not owe any taxes.
She paid $200 with extension request and she is expecting full refund -
What does above status report means ? Does this mean it will go for audit?
Simple returns probably slide through the computer without ever being seen by a human, but there are probably some items that require a human to look them over. That does not mean it is being audited, just that it has a situation that requires a human to double-check and the IRS is backlogged this year.
