Enter hobby income in the Less Common Income section of Wages & Income.
- Click on the Wages & Income tab
- Scroll down to Less Common Income
- Select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
- Select Hobby income and expenses
Unlike self-employment income, you do not have to pay self-employment tax (Social Security and Medicare) on hobby income. You do have to pay income tax.
