I got an extension in May and paid $300 to the State. I'm filing now in Oct, TurboTax doesn't know I already paid, it's asking me how I want to pay the $300.
I am using TurboTax Premier Windows.
In May I filed an extension request using TurboTax Easy Extension Online (Separate from the Windows App). I owed nothing for Federal but for MA State I owed $300. I went to MA gov website and paid the $300 already back in May this year.
Now, it's October and I am e-filing my return for real and my final calculation for State tax owed is also $300.
But TurboTax doesn't know I've already paid.
When I proceed to the e-filing stage, it has a screen saying "How do you want to pay your taxes, you have a balance due of $300"
I can choose either
"Withdraw money from my bank account direct debit"
or
"I will mail a check, your payment must be post marked on or before 5/17/21 to avoid interest charges".
Screenshot of the screen is attached
Neither of those options match my situation. I already paid. What do I do?
Do I choose one of these options or is the whole thing messed up and I need to go back or redo it from scratch? Is there a screen somewhere I missed where I can tell TurboTax I already paid? Do I need to edit something on the underlying forms?
