@michael-boorstei Hi Mike, sorry you are having an issue with TurboTax. It's hard to tell what's going on without looking at your tax data.
TurboTax may have locked your $0 extension payment. You can try deleting the Tax Payments Worksheet. This may clear your $0 and allow you to enter your actual payment. If you do this, you will have to re-enter any tax payments except for withholding on W-2s and 1099s.
Make a note of your federal and state refund/tax due boxes before doing this. Since you are clearing a $0 extension payment, the numbers should be the same after you delete the Tax Payments Worksheet. Otherwise you'll have to re-enter something.
- Click on Tax Tools in the left column
- Then Tools
- In the center box Tools Center, select Delete a Form
- Find Tax Payments Worksheet and DELETE
- Enter your actual extension payment and see whether it transfers over
