Thank you! These are exactly the steps I followed before (and just tried again). But when I change the amount paid with the 2020 extension from $0 to the (large) correct amount, Turbotax does not calculate a new amount of tax refund/due . When go back to confirm that the extension payment amount is still there, I can see it, but the amount of tax due does not change. If I instead enter a new estimated tax payment, TurboTax does then calculate a refund. It seems like Turbotax is not "looking" at the amount put in the "paid with extension" data field.
