Get your taxes done using TurboTax

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to reach out to us today.

I understand that you are inquiring about the status of your tax refund.  You can check the status of your refund on the IRS website.  For your convenience, here is the link.

The second portion of your post regards an adjustment to your gross income on TurboTax when your return is reviewed.  Based on the statement, I believe you are asking will your information change in your TurboTax account once the IRS reviews your return.  TurboTax is a software program.  TurboTax transmits your return to the IRS and/or state taxing agencies once you complete the return and electronically sign.   The IRS does not have the authority to change any of the data inside your return, such as make an adjustment in your gross income on TurboTax.  You will see the status of your filing: such as transmitted or accepted.

Should the IRS determine your gross income needs to be adjusted, you should receive a letter in the mail to the address on your original tax return. In addition, once your return is processed, you can get a transcript on the IRS website confirming all final numbers on the following link.

If you would like to contact the IRS about the status of your refund, the IRS telephone number is 1-800-829-1040, and they are available from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The best time to call is early in the morning before heavy call volume.
