Can I claim my nieces as dependents. I live with my sister, but she claimed them on her taxes. I was the one who had to stay home with them while remote learning?
I am not sure if something changed that would allow this. I spend my nights working, spending most of what I made on food for all of us, my sister works full time. I am self employed, now rideshare driver since my prior work I was doing dried up. Just curious if I can any credit for having been there doing this stuff. My sister had already claimed them on her taxes. This would be a one time only thing for 2020 due to the lockdowns. Is this okay or absolutely something to forget I even thought of this.
