Thanks for your answer on this. TurboTax kept saying that the 1099 "Needs Review" ... then asking for the non-existent EIN for the IRS. As a result, I was worried it wouldn't accept the tax form for filing as a result. But as you said, you can simply ignore it and TurboTax will file anyway. But it's a real flaw that there's no checkbox for "I don't have a 1099-INT" or "There was no EIN provided." Otherwise, the program keeps begging you to provide the EIN. Appreciate your reply, nonetheless. It was helpful.
