TurboTax Free Edition is free as long as you file a 1040EZ (or 1040A
with the
standard
deduction) and don't select any add-ons or
upgrades. Different TurboTax "flavors" handle different tax situations and their associated forms. TurboTax Free Edition doesn't cover 1099-MISC forms. However, you can see if you qualify to file free with the
Tax Freedom Edition (if your AGI is
$33,000 or less).
