If you look back in the replies you will find a very long detailed composite post from me (Foxbat) from a week ago that you might find resolves your problem with efiling and foreign taxes. Most people have found that the solution I posted works and they are able to efile with a Form 1116.
TT is aware of this solution but not all of TT has been advised, so some (most?) of tech support are unaware of the solution. When I asked the tech specialist (not sure of the title, but a level or two above tech support that we can talk to on the phone) why it was not posted as the first response on page one I was told only the person that posted the original question can do that. Odd, but maybe TT spends so much time working with the government they have picked up the normal irrational governmental practices.
