I finally have an IRS for Federal letter saying why I am not getting my $2033 refund for 2019. It shows a calculation error that makes me owe $2700 instead. I used turbotax program and is it not guaranteed calculations? It says SUBTRACT line 11a from line 8b and enter zero if 0 or less. Line 11b has a 0 in it because it is a negative answer. Someone there reversed this and did 8b minus 11a.
My 11a is 191,122.00 and 8b is 87,765 so my or Turbotax answer for 11b is 0 and they owe us.
The other way shows us owing and I believe THEY are in error. How do we handle this one?
