@Lortiz2 Yes. It was just the number on the letter, I also gave the code on the letter when prompted. I know the first representative I got that originally helped (she tried to correct it but told me she couldnt until I received my refund via direct deposit in my bank account) was from accounts management. However, I didn't ask for that department that was just where I was sent automatically. It seems as if you may get ppl who hang up on you because they don't want to deal with the issue (happened to me), ppl who tell you the IRS made that decision and you aren't getting your money back (happened again) and then ppl who are willing to help. And really the challenge is just staying patient and persistent. I would say I called in about 20 times before it was finally resolved and was on hold countless hours BUT it was eventually corrected so totally worth it.
