I received a bonus which was taxed at 22% which is the standard procedure as per here. But what happens if my tax bracket is higher- is it correct that I now owe the difference between my federal tax rate bracket and 22%? The same link above says the 22% rate applies on bonuses up to $1 million which would suggest at that bonus, only $220K would be withheld but then you'd owe $150K at tax time??
