How to identify oneself as Legal permanent resident (Green card holder) in 2020 Tax returns?
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) was reported to implementing new policies and rules that will affect green card holders or lawful permanent residents (LPR) in 2020.
One of the rule states that
"Failure to identify yourself a LPR on your taxes or accurately report your income may now lead to deportation."
Note - LPR - Green card holders.
In Form 1040 (2020) there is no field which can be used to denote tax filer's LPR status. Is there a separate IRS form or line where LPRs can denote their LPR status?
