so if i understand things correctly .....
IF i receive a 1099-int form for some series EE bonds which i redeemed,
then box 1 should be empty AND (only) box 3 should contain the amount of interest that i received.
can anybody tell me -- based on DIRECT EXPERIENCE -- if the foregoing statement is correct?
