Pandemic and all problems it created during 2020 made me miss my 2019 tax return that I tried to get done in time as I did every year previously by TT website. As I have expressed on this blog a few times TT not only did not help me this time around do the return correctly but also made it worse. There was no real help around probably because of the pandemic and also the software looked outdated and not adapted to every single situation resulting in a wrong return at the end despite multiple attempts in vain to submit to IRS . TT charged me $50 despite un unfinished wrong tax returned.
I found the following general problems with TT website software that made me miss my tax return deadline.
- unadapted to every individual tax situation.
- blocking customer from going forward when the situation is different from what the software is programmed for.
- despite giving customers the choice between standard deductions and real expenses , the software decides which one is best blocking customers for the best choice and for going forward. This in fact was the main problem that ended in wrong and missed 2019 tax return in my case . This was very damaging for me because , I not only missed my tax return but I also missed my 2019 tax refund and had to pay $50 for all the damage. thanks
