Yes, you may need the Form 1099-B to report your brokerage sales. You can contact your broker for a copy of 1099-B The form 1099B is used to report gain/s or loss from a sale of stock/s. But ff you can't obtain a copy of the form, you can enter the stock sales or import it in Turbo Tax:
- In TurboTax Home screen, click Tax Tools, then Tools.
- Under Tool Center, type in the search box 1099-B, click go.
- Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2019?
- f you see "Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select Add More Sales.
- Answer NO to "Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?" Or answer YES if you want to try to import it.
