There is no reason for that message, except a computer error.
If you are using Online TurboTax, use the Chrome browser and clear browser data for all time.
- Sign on to TurboTax
- Delete your New York state return
- Then delete the unemployment entry
- Add back your unemployment entry
- Add back New York state.
If you are using Desktop TurboTax, update the software then follow the same steps to delete the state, delete the unemployment, add back the unemployment and add back the state.
