To report the amount of income received from the promotional cryptocurrency, use the following steps:
- Go to the Federal > Income section of your return
- Scroll to the Less Common Income area
- Click Start or Update beside Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
- Click Start or Update beside Other Reportable Income
- Enter a short description and the amount of income you are reporting
The amount reported will be included on Form 1040 Schedule 1 Line 8.
