If you were issued a qualified Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) by a state or local governmental unit or agency under a qualified mortgage credit certificate program, use Form 8396 to figure:
- Your mortgage interest credit for the current year.
- Any credit carryforward for the following year.
You can only claim the credit if you receive a mortgage credit certificate (MCC) from a state or local government agency.
If that does not apply to you, follow the instructions below to delete the form:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
