Yes, since he filed first and the return was not filed as a dependent, his social security number cannot be in your return at all.
Since he is removed from the list of dependents in My Info presumably, check whether he is still listed for any Form 1099-Q or Form 1098-T input. Some states allow for additional deductions for education, as well. So, you may need to check the state.
