You can enter it under Other Income to get it into the tax program.
As for GA, it does not tax Social Security. Canadian pension is equivalent.
GA has a section titled Retirement Income Exempt by Federal Law or Treaty. It applies to: Income that is received from a public pension or retirement fund, program or system may be specifically exempted under federal law or treaty. The income must have been otherwise included in federal adjusted gross income.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to your return
- Go to GA
- Continue until you see Here's the Income that GA handles differently.
- Scroll down to Retirement Income Exempt by Federal Law or Treaty.
- Start
- Enter your Canadian pension in USD
