1098-T Help
We received a 1098-T for my daughter. Due to the changes we appear to be adversely impacted by the 1098-T. It shows more received in Scholarships than Paid. Some of this is due to when payments are made versus when scholarships are credited. As a whole we paid out of pocket in 2020 and now it looks like we do not qualify for the Hope Tax Credit and it is including the some of the scholarship money received as income. Are we doing something wrong? Do we have to include the 1098-T? Is there a way we can factor in total Tuition on Costs? Student loan distribution happened in 2020 but all payments for semester 1 seem to be credited to 2019
