To get past the software issue of not being able to e-file for New York, please navigate to the area where you fill in the information for your W-2.
Once in the W-2 Input, select the W-2 and click Continue.
The next screen will have the box 14 input for W-2. Here you likely have a Box 14 entry in “Box 14 – Category” that says “New York IRC 414(h) NY tax exempt”
For the corresponding input for “Box 14 – Description”, you should just append the phrase “NOT” to whatever their current text is in that field
Once that entry is made you will be able to e-file.
