I have been talking to others. The IRS will not accept a zero return this year unless it has numbers on lines 30, 32, 33, 34, and 35. The only numbers that would make sense there are the rebate recovery credit. Do you have any numbers there?
For the first two stimulus payments, it was only for dependent kids 16 and under. Adults filing their own return would qualify.
You have a real bit of something! Maybe the best thing to do is let someone else see your mom's return and your rejection.
