Normally, you can't change a return filed jointly to separate because of issues like this. It is possible you can get away with it since your return is not due yet, however.
I would suggest you not pay any money back until you find the amended returns have been accepted. You won't be late with your tax payments until after the due date of your tax returns, which is May 17, 2021.
