No. If your total federal refund was $2,747 and you only received $947, then then the IRS removed the $1,800 Recovery Rebate Credit from your return and continued to process the rest of your refund. The Recovery Rebate credit will not be sent separately.
If you did not get your first or second stimulus, and the IRS disqualified you from receiving the Recovery Rebate Credit, then please review the qualifications below.
To qualify, you must:
- Be a US citizen or resident alien.
- Not be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return.
- Have an 2020 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint. If your AGI is above this amount, your payment will be reduced.
The IRS will sent you a notice shortly on the reason they disqualified you for the Recovery Rebate Credit. At that point, you can contact the IRS if you disagree with the information provided.
