Yes, all of the Scottrade people taken over by TD Ameritrade have the cost basis issue. You have to use your records of stock purchases to supply the cost basis.
I want to urge you to create a financial notebook that is kept separate from your tax return. Keep it safe and each year, add your year-end statements from all your financial accounts plus a copy of your W2’s. Stock purchases are good to keep in here.
TD Ameritrade and Schwab combo may cause you to lose your basis again.
