@TC6872 - not following you post...can you please explain more after reading my comments below?
What is on Line 30 of your tax return?
you are entitled to the GREATER of
- the two stimulus payments you received previously OR
- what the 'recovery credit' calculates to based on your 2020 income and dependents
if the 2nd bullet is greater than the 1st bullet, the difference will post on Line 30 of the tax form and increase your refund / reduce what you are owed,
if it is the other way around, you are not due any more and Line 30 will be zero. You are not required to return any money either, so Line 30 can never be negative.
