Get your taxes done using TurboTax

The 1099-NEC is correct.  But there is a procedure to follow to enter the UBER and LYFT summary.  You cannot just enter it on one line as other self-employed income.  

Follow these steps for each of your summaries:

 

  1. Sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Select Wages & Income and then Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off.
  3. Select Self-employment income and expenses.
    • If you have set up your work,  select Review next to your ridesharing work.
    • Delete your 2020 Summary from Lyft
    • Delete your 2020 Summary from Uber
  4. Answer the questions until you get to the What kind of expenses did you have for Rideshare driving? screen. Select the box next to the expense category you have to report.
    Tap Less common expenses to see the full list. Once you've made your selections, tap Continue.
  5. If you've already added this work, you'll scroll down and select Add expenses for this work.
