Get your taxes done using TurboTax

TT hangs up at "Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds,Other" when I click the Update button.
I do have hundreds of broker entries. Is there a limit on the number of entries, although I have been doing this for years with no problems
First, make sure your software is up to date. Have you done the "Check for updates" recently?
Are you using the Mac version or the Windows version? If you are using the Mac version, I'll ask someone using a Mac to assist you and see if they can comment on your situation and whether there is anything specific to the Mac version that might be affecting you.
Desktop TurboTax is supposed to handle about 2,000 transactions per brokerage, but performance does slow down as the number of transactions approaches that. You may have to let it keep spinning for a long time. Oh, I just remembered your TurboTax timed out with a message "TurboTax is not responding."
If you need to talk to TurboTax Support for help with your issue, here's how you can reach them:
Hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern) 7 days/week.
You can use this contact form to get a phone number.

Some people with a large number of transactions instead use a summary method where they enter summary totals for each sales category. Then those filers send Form 8453 along with a copy of their transaction details statement within 3 days after their efiled return has been accepted. If I was choosing that method, I would mail it with some method that has tracking, such as certified or priority mail, etc. and retain proof of timely mailing in my records.
TurboTax allows one to select this summary method, but whether you need to do that or not, I don't know. I'm only a fellow user, but TurboTax Support can help you make that decision, or perhaps they can suggest something else you can do to alleviate the issue you're having.
Also, keep watching this thread in case someone else comments here.
