@GloriaL Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've had such a frustrating time because I filed very early only to find that my contractor sent me a 1099-NEC with the wrong amount. They sent me a corrected 1099-NEC about a week after I filed. I had to wait almost two months for the amended tax return form to become available on TurboTax online to amend my return. This held up my state and local tax returns because I base them on my federal return. Finally, the amended tax return form becomes available (later than promised) and all I want to do is change the figure in box 1, nonemployee compensation. But TurboTax asks me a couple dozen more questions and then throws up the error about the invalid link between the 1099-NEC and Schedule C. Thanks to your solution, I finally was able to finish the amended return.
