If the social security number that is duplicated is yours, then most likely your ID has been stolen. If it is a child's then someone else possibly claimed the child.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to E-file with the Error of Duplicate SSN. You will have to Print and Mail your return, with a note explaining why you mailed. You must sign the printed return prior to mailing. Attach all W-2s, 1099s and any income documents.
Now mailing your return will be as official as e-filing. You should send the return with signature required to track it. TurboTax will not be able to track it once mailed. IRS will only communicate with you at this point. On your note please put your phone number and an email address so that they can contact you to try to Resolve this issue.
