I am the one with the problem - not a solution for the first one!!! I have used Turbo Tax for years, have completed my own personal tax, and am now working on my son's taxes - I have also done his for years with TurboTax. I have entered over $27,000 in contributions but he is still given the standard deduction even though most of his income does not show anywhere - and he owes a few thousand in taxes already! The problem seems to relate to the new form 1099-NEC and carrying forward Schedule C - I have used Premier for years including for my own Schedule C so it is quite adequate and I don't need to upgrade to Home & Business so that is not a solution. This software simply DOES NOT WORK THIS YEAR!!!
