You need both a 1099-NEC to correct the original form that was filed and a Form 1096 to send with the corrected Form 1099-NEC.
Ensure your Form 1099-NEC has the corrected box checked and a copy of the corrected form is provided to the recipient.
Corrected forms are due to recipients and the IRS by March 31st, 2021.
