A Support ID is a number we use to track your request for assistance. It helps us connect you with a TurboTax specialist (for product questions) or a tax expert (for tax questions) who is best suited to help with your specific issue. The Support ID can also save you time in our phone system.
There are 2 ways to get a Support ID:
- Visit our Contact us page. On this page, we'll ask which TurboTax product you’re using and then you can give a description of your issue. You'll then get a Support ID along with the phone number to call us. Write down your Support ID as we might ask you for it when you call.
- If you call us directly without first visiting the Contact us page, we'll ask about your issue and then give you a Support ID. Write it down.
