Get your taxes done using TurboTax
If your state (see below) requires a driver's license or state ID to e-file, then you will either have to provide one or "skip" through this page without making any entry. If that does not work (or you don't have a driver's license or state ID), you will have to print and file the state return by mail.
Which states require driver's license information or officer IDs to electronically file returns?
- Alabama Individual: Requires the driver's license or state identification number to electronically file.
- Ohio Individual: Requires the driver's license or state identification number to electronically file. If the taxpayer does not have one, No Identification should be indicated.
- New York Individual: Requires the driver's license or state identification number to electronically file if the taxpayer has one. If the taxpayer does not have one, No Identification should be indicated.
- New Mexico Individual: Requires the driver's license or state identification number to electronically file.
Neither of these IDs are required to file a federal return, but failing to provide them (if available) may delay processing of your state return.
And, our condolences on the loss of your spouse.
