Wow! This was super thorough and I appreciate the time you took. I had read about the exceptions ( child support, etc), and none apply to me. I'm in Florida, so I don't have state income taxes.
My refund in line 35a says the amount I expected. What I hadn't noticed, until you rightly pointed out the need to LOOK at my own tax return, was that the difference in the amount is exactly the amount on 12 e (
Deferral for certain Schedule H or SE filers).
Now I need to go read up on that!
