Get your taxes done using TurboTax
It depends which Forms 1099-NEC you need to keep. They should not be entered twice. To get past this error, try deleting all Forms 1099-NEC and re-entering them.
To delete them one at a time, follow these steps:
- From the left menu, select Tax Tools.
- Select Tools.
- Scroll to Delete a Form.
- Scroll to Form 1099-NEC and select Delete and Delete Selected Form and Delete.
- Repeat this for all Forms 1099-NEC currently in TurboTax.
To add the Forms 1099-NEC as received:
- Enter schedule c in the search box.
- Select the Jump to link in the search results.
- At Let's enter the income for your work, under COMMON INCOME, select Form 1099-NEC, new IRS form for nonemployee compensation (replaces 1099-MISC) to enter your details.
Forms 1099-NEC are for nonemployee compensation and should be associated with your Schedule C. Report them in the income section of the self-employment income & expenses section.
