Thanks for the answer. You're right, I didn't know that I could maintain the account, and fully acknowledge that it wasn't handled properly. As to how to handle now though, since I added the $6000 in 2020 and never got a tax deduction for it, shouldn't I be able to take it out before filing my taxes without penalty? I do acknolwedge that there will be a penalty on the funds that truly were pre-tax, i.e., the $7000 that were in the account at the beginning of the year.
