If you would like the Earned Income Credit (EIC) calculated based on your 2019 income, then you can go through the EIC screens and elect the lookback provision.
To get to the EIC interview in TurboTax, please follow the instructions below:
- Open your return.
- Search earned income credit with the magnifying glass tool at the top of the screen.
- Select the Jump to link at the top of the search results.
- Continue through the interview until you get to the screen titled Did your earned income decrease in 2020?
- If your income was less in 2020, then it will allow you to recalculate based on your 2019 earned income.
