In addition to the rest of our income (~80K), my wife has a W2 with 0.15

My wife had accepted a job last year for an employer but never started working there. She got another offer somewhere else (she was holding out for) at the same time and accepted that instead so immediately she notified the first employer (for this scenario, we'll say Employer A) and didn't even start orientation or training.

She starting working at Employer B the next week onwards.

Employer A however mailed her a W2 showing $0.15 in income but she never received a check even for that amount. As we're preparing to file, I'm told we have to file by mail (which would be the second time we'd have to in a row) with this time being because of this stinkin' W2 being $0.15.

I'm trying to understand this:

If I omit this W2/I alter the amount of the W2 to $1 to avoid filing by mail, am I doing anything wrong/illegal?

Only reason being my wife never got a check from this employer so it's pretty much that Employer A is falsely reporting information on the W2 from what I can tell.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
