I don't know if this helps anyone but I just checked, in my 1116 and 1116 AMT for both "General Category Income (Wages)" and "Passive Category Income (Bank Interest)" has the country name populated in column A for Copy 1 and Copy 2 of the forms respectively.
After trying many times in the last few days I almost gave up and ready to go for the paper file. One last try last night worked and both Federal and CA forms show as accepted.
I used TurboTax Premier online tool.
