Get your taxes done using TurboTax

This is a user community forum. Have you already filed a 2020 return? Or are you still in the preparation phase and just want to stop?
What exactly are you wanting to do? Are you just referring to a 2020 in-progress return?
If you haven't already filed, are you just wanting to clear out your 2020 return and not use TurboTax? If so, I've left you a FAQ below. You can only clear out a return if you haven't yet paid or registered and, of course, have not filed.
Or do you want to deactivate the entire account so it cannot be used, even by you?
Or do you want to review and submit a delete request of all your personal data that Intuit has?
The latter two options are long and drawn out. You may have to submit ID documents.
If you decide not to use TurboTax to finish your return and don't clear out your return (see FAQ below), the return data will persist. TurboTax will keep each year's PDF and tax data file in one's online account whether finished or not. Users might decide at some point in the future to finish a prior-year return. So it's possible to access an uncompleted return (PDF or tax data file) from prior years to download and finish in a desktop product for that tax year.
That being said, if you don't want it to persist, you may be able to clear out your return.
Have you already paid or registered or filed? If so, you can't clear the return. If you haven't paid, registered, or filed, you can clear out your return using "Clear and start over." Once cleared, just don't start over.
The 2020 return will be cleared, but prior-year returns (if any) will remain in your account and accessible by you. With this option, only the 2020 return is affected. Your account info (profile, preferences, etc.) will persist in the account settings
