You must not have been good at your job. Tax topic 152 has NOTHING to do with identity verification. I have never had to verify my identity and have received that message ever since I could file. Clicking on the link it literally says
Refund Timing
The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in the normal time frame: less than 21 days. However, it’s possible that some tax returns may require further review and could take longer.
Literally says NOTHING about it being identity verification because tax topic 152 is not for identity verification. Period.
