It depends. There are 5 test for an individual to qualify as dependent:
- Relationship - must be a child,, foster child, brother, sister, and other descendants.
- Residence - must live under the same address for over 6 months.
- Age -t age 19 or under 24 and a full -time student for at least 5 months.
- Support - provided over one-half of the total support.
- Can't file a joint return.
She may be claimed as a dependent, but there are tax consequences because of her gross income.
